Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Makassed Hospital was established since early eighties. It is considered as a tertiary referral center for all regions of Lebanon, providing the highest standards of neonatal care. It is located in the third floor on the north section.

The newly renovated unit consists of 8 beds and is fully equipped to provide all the care to premature babies and sick newborns. The unit is directed by European and American Board certified professors in neonatology, and nursing services are provided by highest professional staff.

Around 200 premature and sick newborns are admitted yearly to our NICU.

The resident team of different levels rotate in the unit, in addition to one fellow in neonatology.
