Introduction

DR. Zouheir Mohamad Naja, started his Medical Studies, at Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse France. He completed his residency in Anesthesia – Intensive Care Adult. He was granted a Medical Specialty degree (C.E.S.) in Anesthesia – Intensive Care Adult Polyvalent. He received a Certificate in Pain Management from the University of Toulouse, He completed his Masters of Management. Université du Québec à Chicoutimi . Dr. Naja, went back to Lebanon, full of faith in his career. He started working at Makassed Hospital, as an Attending Physician in the Anesthesia Department, Anesthesia and Reanimation Department in intensive care unit 1999 till present time. Dr. Naja, established the Medical Research Unit as a Principal Investigator of the first step of IRB (Institutional Review Board) that has an educational and advisory nature and performs its functions in advanced medical research since year 2000. The amount of international and local published researches progressed yearly due to the nature of Makassed General Hospital as a training center for different local and international universities. Dr. Naja, with his personal efforts in his specialty, in Anesthesia, invented progressively special anesthetic procedure for elderly and critical patients, in addition to pediatrics and neonatal patients undergoing minor to major operations. he develop a new technique for many type of surgery such as (ENT and Breast surgery, major abdominal surgery, hip replacement surgery , spinal anesthesia for inguinal hernia repair , somatic nerve block for ventral hernia repair, hemorrhoidectomy pain, herniorrhaphy Pain Relief in Children, techniques in circumcision), all this techniques for this way of anesthesia was published during the last year, and reduce all over by the pain post operation this protocol of treatment was mention in several international journals in pain management and block anesthesia. According to this publications he became professor and international authority in anesthesia and nerve block. He establish the Lebanese society for the study of pain, Accomplished his aim of innovation in practicing on this way of treatment (Pain Management) for chronic cases as (frozen shoulder, Zona, tennis elbow, Low back Pain, occipital neurologia, trigeminal neuralgia, cervicogenic headache, pudendal neuralgia , myofascial pain syndrome, piriformis syndrome, mastodynia.…), and others kind of pain. And being the first one in the international and in the Middle East how practice this way of anesthesia and then was approved and certify by the international way of anesthesia to reduce the risk of the major or minor operation. Otherwise this innovation in pain management was reviewed, approved and published by international Books and journals, and became professor and international authority in pain management. This techniques was unique at Makassed General Hospital, in between the university hospital in Lebanon and at Beirut Specially that helps a number of complicated patient to be operated without any complication and back to their normal life in a short time. His vision, of all above was mention that, Makassed General Hospital, Must be consider a hospital without pain and be as center of pain Management, and have a special technique of anesthesia take in consideration case by case adapted the needs of every patient the way of anesthesia , as innovation in medicine and for different type of surgical procedures.
