Patient Services Medical Departments
Al Makassed General Hospital Internal Medicine Department has specialized doctors who provide care to a diverse group of patients. It includes: Twelve cardiologists, seven nervous system doctors, six lung diseases doctors, five Hematology and Oncology doctors, five nephrologists, three infectious diseases doctors, two family medicine specialists, two rheumatologists, a dermatologists and a psychiatrists.
The internal medicine department includes seven departments:
- Heart diseases;
- Digestive system diseases;
- Hematology and Oncology;
- Kidney disease;
- Pulmonary / critical care;
- Nerve and endocrine diseases.
The Department has been providing a postgraduate training program for residency at the American University of Beirut since 1984, and in 2019, it cooperated with the Beirut Arab University for the residency program.
Our internal medicine training program has been accredited by the Arab Council for Health Specializations since 1991.
Our graduates have the opportunity to pursue fellowship training in various disciplines at the American University of Beirut, as well as in our institution in cooperation with Beirut Arab University in the fields of lung disease, intensive care, gastroenterology, kidney disease, and blood and oncology diseases.
